Life in São Paulo and travel throughout South America
Lunch in Liberdade
When Sunday rolls around, there is one common question in our household… “Lamen or dumplings?”
We have made a habit out of hopping the metro and making our way to the Japanese neighborhood in São Pauloon Sunday afternoons. Numerous visits have confirmed favorites… and while I am hesitant to share because they are regularly swamped, they are delicious and I cannot resist.
Aska is our go to spot for homemade lamen. Delectable and frequently a one hour wait. Don’t forget the gyoza (potstickers)!
Rong He is a must try for soup dumplings and other delicious fare. Check out their website to see how fresh noodles are prepared (or you can just head to the restaurant and watch from your table).
I would share specifics, but I don’t know what anything is called because I spend my time with the menu staring awkwardly at the Jones family until they order food for me. You should probably bring them with you…
